Har Ghar Tiranga 2025 is an extension of India’s patriotic campaign, inviting people to fly the national flag in their homes as a personal tribute to the country’s independence. Initiated under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav scheme, it represents unity, pride, and citizenship, calling on all households to participate in the celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day.

In 2025, the campaign from August 2 to August 15 will be conducted in three phases. The awareness creation phase (August 2–8) involves educational programs, community decorations, rangoli competitions, and activities conducted by schools. The second phase (August 9–12) includes extensive community outreach events such as the Tiranga Mahotsav, cultural fairs, stalls conducted by SHGs, and flag-based bike rallies. The third and last phase (August 13–15) ends with mass flag-hoisting at homes and institutions, public lighting of monuments, and a huge online push through uploads of selfies with the national flag on the official website, harghartiranga.com.
It is easy to join in. Citizens are asked to fly the flag at their homes, click a selfie with it, and upload it to the official portal. They can also digitally pledge and obtain an individualized certificate of participation and Har Ghar Tiranga digital badge. India-based volunteers have also been engaged to assist in spreading awareness, dispersing flags, and facilitating flag hoisting at the community level. In 2025, special efforts have been made to engage self-help groups, especially women-based ones, in flag production and distribution.
The movement has stirred nationwide fervor. Noida, Ghaziabad, and Kanpur have held cultural festivals, Tiranga-themed decoration competitions, and local exhibitions. In Ayodhya, Lucknow, and Varanasi, political leadership and citizens have participated in marches and symbolic yatras. In Berhampur, the movement was combined with a sanitation drive—Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata—promoting both national pride and civic cleanliness.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially supported Har Ghar Tiranga 2025, congratulating the patriotic fervor displayed by citizens in previous years and promoting fresh vigour this Independence Day. With millions already on board and thousands of selfies shared every day, the initiative keeps expanding in magnitude and expanse.
Har Ghar Tiranga 2025 is not a campaign—it’s a movement that turns homes into icons of patriotism and reiterates every Indian’s common identity and devotion to the country. It does not only ask people to hoist the flag but to live the flag, building on harmony, dignity, and shared pride for the tricolour.
