Star Plus’s supernatural drama Jaadu Teri Nazar – Daayan Ka Mausam, starring Khushi Dubey and Zayn Ibad Khan, is officially set to go off air by July 2025. The decision comes in light of the show’s declining viewership and inability to maintain strong TRP ratings.
The show premiered on February 18, 2025, with an intriguing fantasy plot. It revolved around Vihaan, born as a Daavansh (half-human, half-daayan), and Gauri, a Reevavanshi (a warrior born to defeat evil), as they find themselves caught between destiny, love, and supernatural threats. While the concept blended horror and romance effectively in the beginning, the execution became increasingly complex over time.

One of the reasons cited for the show’s early exit is the lack of consistent audience engagement. The story’s frequent diversions into subplots and the introduction of new characters, including multiple female leads, diluted the main storyline. Despite introducing popular actress Monalisa as a powerful daayan to add excitement, the ratings did not improve significantly.
The production team has now decided to end the show gracefully, promising a happy ending for the central characters, Gauri and Vihaan. Fans can expect closure in the form of a well-wrapped finale next month. The decision is reportedly mutual between the channel and the creators, aiming to conclude the story while retaining its narrative dignity.

In May 2025, actress Aditi Sharma was brought in to play Kesar, a mysterious new daayan meant to bring back intrigue to the show. Although her entry created a temporary buzz, it wasn’t enough to recover the slipping numbers. Viewers and critics alike pointed out that the supernatural tracks became repetitive and overused, with some fans voicing their frustration on platforms like Reddit. Many felt that the show prioritized dramatic twists over meaningful character arcs, ultimately losing its emotional connection with the audience.
Produced by Gul Khan under the banner of 4 Lions Films, the series aired on Star Plus and was also available for streaming on JioHotstar. With around 115 episodes, each approximately 26 minutes long, the show featured a strong cast including Khushi Dubey as Gauri, Zayn Ibad Khan as Vihaan, Monalisa as the daayan Mohana, and Aditi Sharma as Kesar.
Jaadu Teri Nazar – Daayan Ka Mausam started off with a compelling supernatural romance theme but could not maintain its initial pace and appeal. The decision to end the show next month gives the makers a chance to deliver a satisfying ending for loyal viewers while making space for new programming on the channel.
