OnePlus has begun the deployment of the first software update for its latest product, the OnePlus 12R, in India, bringing significant upgrades largely to the device’s camera capabilities. The update, which is over 400MB in size, is now only available to OnePlus 12R customers in India, but it is likely to be released globally soon.

The OnePlus 12R, which was launched in January with an original price of Rs. 39,999 for the base 8GB+128GB configuration, is distinguished by its 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO 4.0 AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,264×2,780 pixels.
Running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and having the latest Android 14-based OxygenOS 14, the smartphone offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 4.0 storageDelivering a strong performance profile.The firmware update focuses on improving the OnePlus 12R’s camera performance and stability.
The device’s triple back camera configuration, which includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera, has seen significant improvements. Improvements, particularly in indoor photography, have been added, offering users a better photography experience.Beyond camera-specific improvements, the update addresses broader system stability and performance issues.

Significant improvements have been made to network and Bluetooth connectivity, with the goal of providing a more seamless and reliable user experience. Furthermore, the update includes power consumption optimisations aimed at prolonging battery life in specific use cases.This update, known as OxygenOS version 14.0.0.307 (EX01), demonstrates OnePlus’ dedication to continuously refining and improving the user experience.
