
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, addressed the ‘Loktantra Bachao’ (save democracy) rally of the INDI Alliance at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. This event took place while Arvind Kejriwal was in the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) custody since March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
During the rally, Sunita Kejriwal announced six guarantees on behalf of the INDI Alliance:

- Full Statehood for Delhi: The promise to elevate Delhi to a full-fledged state.
- Good Hospitals and Education: Ensuring quality healthcare facilities and education.
- 24X7 and Free Electricity: A commitment to uninterrupted power supply and free electricity.
- Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Farmers: Aligning with the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations.
- Mohalla Clinics in Every Village: Expanding healthcare access.
- World-Class Schools in Villages: Enhancing educational infrastructure.

Sunita Kejriwal also hinted at a discord within the INDI Alliance, mentioning that Arvind Kejriwal apologized to allies for not discussing these announcements beforehand due to his incarceration. She expressed hope that other INDI Alliance parties would accept these guarantees. Interestingly Kalpana Soren, Wife of another jailed INDI Alliance leader, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s Hemant Soren, Was also present at the rally.
The promises made during this rally reflect the INDI Alliance’s commitment to improving governance, healthcare, education, and farmers’ welfare in Delhi. The audience included prominent leaders such as Atish, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Congress president prominent leaders Kharge, Uddhav Thackeray and Akhilesh Yadav.
