Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has announced a major set of infrastructure and sports development projects for the state, including a new integrated Assembly-cum-Secretariat complex, a Tamil Nadu Olympic City and a dedicated Motor Sports City in Chennai.
The announcements were made in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Thursday under Rule 110. The projects are being presented as part of a broader effort to modernise administration, strengthen sports infrastructure and raise Chennai’s profile as an international sporting destination.
New ₹1,200 Crore Secretariat-Assembly Complex
One of the major announcements is the proposed construction of a new integrated Secretariat and Legislative Assembly complex in Chennai.
The project is estimated to cost ₹1,200 crore and will have a built-up area of around 20 lakh square feet. The proposed facility is expected to bring various state government departments together under one modern administrative complex.
