Gold and silver prices have fallen during the last week in India. The biggest drop was seen in silver prices, which have declined significantly on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
According to market data, the price of silver futures for July delivery fell by more than ₹4,800 per kilogram during the week. Silver was trading around ₹2,67,000 per kilogram, compared to ₹2,71,846 per kilogram at the end of the previous week. This shows a major decline in silver prices.

The fall was also visible in the domestic market. Data from the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) showed that silver prices dropped from around ₹2,66,000 per kilogram to ₹2,63,350 per kilogram.
Silver has fallen sharply from its all-time high. In January 2026, silver touched a record level of ₹4,57,328 per kilogram on MCX. After the recent decline, silver is now more than ₹1.90 lakh cheaper than its highest level.
Gold prices also saw a small decline during the week. On May 22, the price of 24-carat gold on MCX was around ₹1,61,320 per 10 grams. By the end of the week, it had fallen slightly to around ₹1,61,049 per 10 grams.
In the domestic market, the price of 10 grams of gold dropped from ₹1,58,117 to ₹1,56,463, showing a decrease of ₹1,654.
Experts say that gold and silver prices are being affected by global economic conditions, inflation concerns, interest rate expectations, and international geopolitical developments. Investors are advised to consult financial experts before investing in gold, silver, or related exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
