Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has launched the Next Gen Tiago and Tiago.ev in India, giving its popular hatchback a major refresh across design, features, safety and powertrain choices. The new Tiago range now starts at ₹4.69 lakh for the petrol version, while the Tiago.ev starts at ₹6.99 lakh for the full-ownership electric version.
With this update, Tata Motors is clearly trying to make the hatchback segment more aspirational. While India’s entry hatchback market has slowed down over the past few years due to the rise of compact SUVs, the Tiago continues to remain an important product for Tata Motors as it offers a mix of affordability, safety and multiple fuel options.
What’s New In The Next Gen Tiago?

The updated Tiago gets a refreshed exterior design, a more premium cabin and several new-age features. Tata Motors has focused on making the hatchback look sharper and feel more upmarket, without moving it too far away from its value-focused positioning.
One of the biggest highlights is the addition of premium technology such as a 360-degree surround view system with blind view monitor. This is a feature generally seen in higher-segment cars, and its inclusion in a hatchback strengthens Tiago’s positioning as a feature-rich small car.
The cabin has also been updated to offer a more modern experience. Tata Motors has worked on the overall interior layout, connected technology and convenience features to make the Tiago feel more relevant for younger buyers and urban families.
