Marvel fans in India are eagerly waiting for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but the film will arrive in theatres with a few changes. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted the movie a UA 13+ certificate after directing minor edits ahead of its theatrical release in India.
According to the CBFC certification, the biggest modification is the removal of an 8-second kissing sequence featuring Tom Holland and Zendaya. In addition to the visual cut, the board also instructed the makers to mute or remove certain strong words from the English audio and subtitle tracks. Static anti-liquor health warnings have also been added to scenes depicting alcohol consumption, in line with Indian certification guidelines.
The certified Indian version has a final runtime of 2 hours, 24 minutes and 52 seconds (144 minutes 52 seconds). Earlier rumours had claimed that nearly five minutes had been removed from the film, but those reports were denied before the movie was submitted for certification. The final CBFC approval confirms that only minor edits were required.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie also features Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo in key roles. The story follows Peter Parker as he begins a new chapter after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, facing fresh challenges while protecting New York from a dangerous new threat.
The film is scheduled to release in Indian cinemas on July 30, 2026, in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Despite the minor CBFC edits, fans can expect the complete action-packed superhero experience on the big screen.
